Here it is: Prague in all its glory!

Today I had painting class and YAY! My painting came out pretty nice and for once I felt like I was semi-in control of the paint!  I got to walk to and from class, which was nice--the weather here has been cool and damp (the exact opposite of what I hear is going on in California).

Went to the bank and did laundry after I got home from class.  Balanced my budget.  Made spaghetti, steamed zucchini, salad, and pseudo-garlic bread (no garlic, just butter and Italian seasoning blend on a roll).  Skyped with Mom and Joanna for about an hour and a half.

But I know you probably aren't that interested in all the random tasks I did today, so here's something way more interesting: the photos from Prague!  Also, here is the link to the website for Richie, the guy from London we met at the hostel who plays guitar and sings.  He has a bunch of "Free Songs of the Month" that you can listen to on the page.  A lot of them are instrumental, but there are a few with vocals too.

Again, it's tough to narrow it down . . . but here are some of the best photos from our weekend in the city of music and color! (By the way, there are definitely more than 20!)

Café Louvre

Street music on Charles Bridge

The hilltop park and river, seen from Charles Bridge

The view from the steps of the Rudolfinum. where the Prague Philharmonic plays

At the Motto café restaurant near the main square.  Marni and I liked it so much that we ate here twice!

Horses in the main square

The Astronomical Clock and main square

Marni at Mamacoffee, the cute 2-story coffee shop just a few blocks from the hostel

The view from the tower at the hilltop park . . . breathtaking!

St. Vitus's Cathedral front façade

Rose window of St. Vitus

Nave of St. Vitus

St. George's Basilica--notice the heavy Romanesque architecture

Side view and "Golden Gate" entrance of St. Vitus

Beef goulash in a rye bowl! Yum!

Me and Marni at the cute café restaurant with our goulash

The waiter was nice enough to take this picture of us together.  :)

The square at the east entrance to Charles Bridge

Cathedral and castle hilltop from across the river

Marni drawing at Charles Bridge

At Charles Bridge in the evening

Bridge absolutely encrusted in locks . . . it looked like a piece of jewelry!

Café Márnice, under Charles Bridge at the west end

Wow.

Double wow.

Statues on Charles Bridge just after sunset

Mosaic House had these super trippy sculptures outside . . .

Mosaic House, our hostel, complete with people floating in on umbrellas and giant mushrooms under which everybody could sit and smoke (not sure the mushroom thing was coincidental . . .)

The Rudolfinum, where the Prague Philharmonic plays. Wonder if Jim Svejda has been here?

St. Nicholas' Church--very Baroque!

Me at Divokasarka

The view from Divokasarka . . . GORGEOUS!

Marni in a hilltop meadow at Divokasarka

#amazing

Another meadow!

"The hills are alive . . ."

The Ishtar Gate!  WOWZERS!

Okay, Mary, I got my photo in front of the gate! Ancient history up close and personal!

Pergamon Altar!!! DOUBLE WOWZERS!

The view from the top steps of the altar.  Yeah, this thing is huge.

A model of what the entire altar would have looked like

Cool but kind of creepy: Reconstructed tomb of ancient Assyria at the
Pergamonmuseum, complete with skeletons.  Those bones are OLD!
