Hi everyone, thanks for praying. I was really sick last night--literally couldn't stand up. This morning while it was still dark I got up to go to the bathroom and I passed out and conked my head on one of the bunk bed ladders! One of the guys in the room picked me up and got me back in my bed. I got a little cut on the back of my head, and Marni was really concerned about the possibility of a concussion or something, so the hostel staff called their doctor and he came to check me out. He said I seemed okay but recommended for me to go to a hospital when I get back to Hamburg (my student health insurance will cover me as long as I'm in Germany). Thankfully this afternoon I'm feeling better--not back to normal, but WAY better than this morning!
Marni has been so awesome. She transferred over our bus tickets so we can go home tomorrow, and she's been checking up on me all day and making sure I have everything I need. I'm so incredibly thankful she was with me--I can't even imagine what it would have been like to be so sick and be traveling alone. There is no way I would have been coherent enough to explain what was going on, or to try to figure out a doctor, or to book new bus tickets. Pray that Marni wouldn't get sick, because she has been in very close contact with me today!
Everyone at the hostel has been great too. (This is seriously the best hostel I've stayed in to date. Free breakfast and dinner, city orientation from the receptionist the first night, really friendly staff on duty 24 hours, fun decor, comfy beds, front-door buses to Auschwitz and other historical sites . . . I would totally stay here again!) The receptionist helped Marni figure out the doctor, and she also said it was okay if we stayed an extra night even though we hadn't booked it in advance. I'm just SO thankful . . . God always watches over me so well!
Feeling good enough to eat something, I think . . . the hostel has cornflakes so I might go for those.
Love to y'all! Thanks for praying!
Praise God your feeling better! I was worried about you. Angels are watching over you...
